Keep your spirits afloat and your Gin and Tonic cold with these Titanic-themed ice cubes. You get 4 ocean liners and 4 iceberg moulds in a tray. Simply fill the tray with water, pop it into the freezer, and a few hours later your ice cubes are ready to set sail!
It's probably fair to say this isn't the most tasteful novelty ice cube tray ever. While we wouldn't want to suggest that epic historical disasters are a laughing matter, we're pretty sure that this isn't a joke that could be accused of being made "too soon" after the event. Basically it's short on respect for the dead, but long on pun value.
So anyway, here's the history bit: The RMS Titanic was a passenger liner that was the largest ship afloat at the time of its launch. Famously described as "unsinkable", the Titanic hit an iceberg on 15th April 1912 - on her maiden voyage - and sank with the loss of more than 1500 passengers and crew. The wreck was discovered on the seabed in 1985 and it remains one of the most famous ships in history, the subject of numerous films, books and exhibitions.
Fun fact to lighten the mood: Did you know that October 19th is International Gin & Tonic Day? Neither did we until we read it on Wikipedia, so it could be made up, but then again, who needs a specially designated day to drink a G & T?
So to recap - it's an ice cube tray that's in slightly poor taste, but it's a great talking point at parties and a reminder whenever you open the freezer that you aren't drinking enough gin and tonics.
Gin and Titonic is made from silicone rubber and is dishwasher safe.
